Her main responsibility was providing attentive care for the newborn baby. Her duties included bathing, feeding, diaper changing, preparing milk, changing clothes, and ensuring the baby's hygiene, comfort, safety, and daily needs. She also prepared nutritious food appropriate for the baby.

In addition to newborn care, she handled general household duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, changing bed covers, and maintaining the home in a clean and organized condition.
